Happy 4th of July from New Milford, CT!
The fireworks last night went off with a bang, (sorry) they were spectacular! My family enjoyed the carnival, the great food, the fireworks, all a fantastic way to celebrate the 4th of July in New Milford, CT. The town gathered together downtown yesterday for a fun filled day of good music, wonderful food and the spirit of the 4th of July was everywhere.
"I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more." - John Adams to his wife Abigail Adams on July 3, 1776.

Check out some fun and interesting facts about the 4th of July!
Please do be careful as we are now in a heat wave and a dry spell. Remember the grass is dry and can burn quickly. Keep extra water with you, wear a hat and light colored, loose fitting clothing and most of all ENJOY THE DAY!

Happy Independence Day, Happy 4th of July,
however you say it have a wonderful day!

I went today to help out an associate (and dear friend) from my office today. He has an antique home listed for sale in Bridgewater and I have been dying to post about it. So today I drove over to take some photos for my post, anyone that has been reading my blog knows how much I love antiques, so stay tuned. I got some great photos and am putting all the information together.

Despite the criticisms of the rehabilitation of
Town Greens and Connecticut, they go hand in hand. Most towns or cities that still have a "town green" will tell you theirs is the most beautiful in all the state. And I have to agree with that theory.
