Set at the northern end of Candlewood Lake, the scenic town of Sherman, CT is truly a gem of the area. Choose to live in one of the many lake communities tucked around Candlewood Lake or Squantz Pond, or amid the sweeping vistas of the rural countryside of Sherman, CT. Accessible by Connecticut State Routes 55, 39 and 37 Sherman is an easy commute, yet seems worlds away. The population of Sherman is estimated to be 4,106, spread through the 23.4 square miles of the town.

The Sherman School serves the children of Sherman, CT from pre-kindergarted through the 8th grade attend, then have a choice of 4 area schools to attend high school. High School students can attend New Milford High School, New Fairfield High School, Brookfield High School or Shepaug Valley High School in Washington, CT.

What's to do in Sherman? A portion of the Appalachian Trail runs through Sherman, Squantz Pond State Park, a 4 season park offers much outdoor activity, Naromi Land Trust hosts many events and provides wonderful trails for hiking. FYI, Naromi Land Trust got its name from Naromiyocknowhusunkatankshunk Brook, which means "water from the hills". Then there is always swimming and boating on Candlewood Lake.

The Sherman Playhouse has been entertaining local residents since 1923. Check out the current season, I am sure you will be enchanted by the Sherman Players at the Playhouse!

American Pie Company is located in Sherman, CT. A wonderful treat for baked goods as well as sit down meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I always try to stop there when I am in Sherman, great place to eat, meet the locals and just have a good time! My guess is much of the town politics are conducted at American Pie Company!
