Lake Lillinonah Spring Cleaning, Save the Lake Day, May 22, 2010

Get your ducks geese in a row and join the cleanup!
Lake Lillinonah needs a spring cleaning! Save the Lake Day is May 22, 2010 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm starting at the state boat launch in Bridgewater, CT on Rt. 133. According to the Friends of the Lake, everyone will be given plastic bags, gloves and tarps, and will be sent out in teams along the shore and in boats. When finished, lunch will be provided for all who have worked hard to clean up the lake. Fun, food and a cleaner lake is promised!
Lake Lillinonah is part of the Housatonic River. Beginning in New Milford just below the old Bleachery Dam, the lake heads toward Bridgewater through Lovers Leap Gorge, winds through Brookfield, Roxbury, Southbury and Newtown where it ends, becoming the Housatonic River once again. The lake has created 45 miles of beautiful shoreline and a wonderful boating and fishing opportunity for all and some magnificent waterfront real estate along the shoreline.
According to the State of Connecticut DEP website, Lake Lillinonah is a premiere fishing destination! The lake is home to large and small mouth bass, white perch and the common carp. How about a fishing tournament? Be sure to check out the CT DEP website for more information.
