I realized the other day that there is art outside everywhere, that many people are artists at heart, or gallery owners. They have either done some artwork on the side of a building, such as garage or barn, or silo as below, or they have purchased sculptures and proudly display them as if their yard was one big art gallery. In homage to that I have decided to find as many as I can and post them.
Here is the first in what I hope to be a very successful series entitled "Fresh Air Gallery". (Although I can think of 3 other photos I have taken that qualify, but this is the first INTENTIONAL post of the series). I am putting them on display in my Picassa Album.
This particular piece is called "Pride of the Pasture" by CJ Flynn. It is about 30 plus years old I believe. It is up 50 feet high. Now I just wonder exactly how he did that?

Andrea...
I wonder how he did it too! This is a very interesting concept ... I have to think about where I might find some outside art!
Good morning Richard. I do know how he did it, LOL. I could be bribed. I bet you will find some very interesting outside art! Thank you.
Ha! That is funny, Andrea! :-) I sure wouldn't have wanted to be the one who did THAT painting!
Now you've piqued my interest - I'm going to have to look for some of that "outside art".
Andrea now that you brought it to my attention, I do recall seeing this type of art. I don't know how he did it, but I would have painted it while the top of the silo was on the ground. Looking forward to more photos. Thanks.
aww, I love that, it is so cute and one of a kind. True artist!
Mike, there sure is a lot of it around! Go forth and take pictures!
Mike, hmmm... aren't you smart!
Rita, it really is pretty cool. Thanks! I will pass this on to him.
Andrea,
No way you would get me up there painting; I get vertigo just thinking about it.
I often wonder how those grafitti artists leave their mark on highway overpasses, water towers and the like.
At least the one in the photograph you posted was apparently done or approved by the owner of that silo...and it adds to the scenery unlike most grafitti.
Terry, I couldn't go up there either. And the thing is, they are up inside the silo all the time. At least you can go right up the side, and it is covered (or you can go up the ladder on the outside). Silo's are very dangerous, the gasses inside can kill you! Just FYI, LOL.
Craig, the owner did this himself over 30 years ago. I don't think I would call it graffiti, but then again, maybe I need to look at the definition of graffiti, LOL.
LOOOVE that beautiful blue sky!!! thanks for stopping by my blog, always good to see you. I FINALLY got a response on my offer today, EIGHT days later! Let the games begin!
Hi Janna, wow, 8 days later. Better late than never! Thank YOU for stopping by. :D

Well thank you Caren! A mooooving picture? I am hunting for more art to take pictures of. I have my eye on a few... :D
