Today was our parade in New Milford, lots of fun was had by all. I took some photographs and made a slide show, tried to get every group in. It was a great parade, the kids were awesome, the bands, the tumblers, Karate kids, the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Brownies Girl Scouts, and Daisies! Our local volunteer fire departments were well represented, they are expert not only in putting out fires but in marching in parades too! And of course the veterans, and let us not forget the reason we all gathered today, to honor the men and women who so selflessly gave up their lives to make ours a safer and better one.
I missed the duck races, my grandson had to get home, but I left my duck in good hands. He has not come home yet nor has he called, so I am not quite sure where he placed. Perhaps he is out celebrating?
Please enjoy!

Andrea..What a Grand Parade I can almost hear the Music and festivities ..I feel like I am there ..Thank you for sharing
HelpfulHannah your friend in Philadelphia
Hi Hannah, thanks! I do love the parade, but always with a bit of a heavy heart as to the reason why we have the parade in the first place. Thank you!
Andrea, What a Great Parade! Looks like a fun time was had by all!
Terrific presentation of a great parade ! ...love the slide show Andrea !
Hi Andrea-Loved that slideshow. You put a lot of work into this. It certainly was a big event with lots of participation. Loved the duck and the cars. That dog was enjoying the ride for sure. <Glad you had a wonderful time. <WARM SMILE>
Andrea - It's so nice to see that your community observed Memorial Day in such a nice way! Sacramento also had it's observation of this important day. Great slideshow!
Andrea, a very nice parade! Great photographs and a wonderful presentation! Thank you for sharing.
Andrea, it sure looks like a good time was had by all! Love the old cars!
Hi Tony & Darcy, thank you. Yes, I think a good time was had by all!
Shel my friend, thanks. I had fun doing it. :D
Sharon, I do love taking pictures! I hope you had a wonderful day too!
Myrl, it is a big event here, always has been. Most of the crowd was up on the green, we didn't go up all the way because we wanted to stay close to the house this year. Diaper duty and all, LOL. Thank you!
Lourdes, you are very welcome, and thank you! I love the local parades and fairs. The next big one is in a small town called Bridgewater, next town over. It is a big agricultural fair, and the parade consists of fire departments from all over! I can hardly wait.
Andrea, .....great pictures! I love parades.... this one looked pretty good! They make for a very special way to honor those who have fallen.
Thanks for sharing, Jess
Hi Pat, it was nice for sure. And my grandson enjoyed every minute of it, he was facinated! Thank you!
Andrea, I hope you left that duck with a camera so we can see what a duck race is!!
Marchel, I wish, but he is so irresponsible, and really had no pockets to put the camera in. :D
Andrea, that was quite a parade............I love a parade! Your community really turned out in full force didn't they! Thank you to all Veterans for their service to our country and our freedom!
Caren, thanks! I do love a parade too. Last year at our tri centennial we had an elephant in the parade! :D
Great job with this blog Andrea.
I love the slideshow.
Now about that duck........You'd better find him. A celebrating duck on the loose can be very dangerous!
Good morning Craig! Good to see you, hope you have been so busy with real estate that you haven't had time to spend here.
On to the duck... I think he didn't even make it to the race. There was this little duck-ette he spotted before I had to leave, he had that roving look in his eye. The fact that I haven't heard from him leads me to believe he found his paradise yesterday. I have to face facts, he probably won't be back, and I will have to train another duck for next year. All that hard work down the tubes... That's gratitude for you.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.
Well, you know how persuasive those duckettes can be with those "come hither" looks!!!
Craig, that was her! How did you get her picture! If you see her pulling some poor slob by the tail feathers, let me know.
Or.. is she yours? Are you sending her in to entice all the potential winners to your team? Got duck races down there do you? Hmmmm...
Andrea, I don't know what the duck you're talking about!!!
And, I'm not sure if we have duck races down here...I do know that we have pig racing at the State Fair although I've never personally attended them....Perhaps this year I'll check it out and give you a full report!
Craig, uh huh, ok, sure....
I think you should enter a pig of your own. :D
Andrea, I'm all out of pigs right now.
Do you have one I can borrow?
I'll split the winnings with you!!!
Americana, who DOESN'T love a parade! Too bad you had to abandon your duck, but there's always next year!
Craig, that can be arranged. I will have one delivered to your office.
Janna, you got that right, I just love them. Yes, there is always next year for that duck race, LOL. I have to get a new duck though, I think Craig stole mine.
Andrea, please have that pig sent to my office.....postage paid!!!
Andrea, if you have that duck trained to call home, then he should get an award for that :)
I have heard of talking horses (Mr. Ed), but never talking ducks :)
George, the duck is gone, and I think I know just where he is. Look up... :D
Craig, wont you just die when that pig is delivered to your office... lock stock and ham hock? :D
Thanks for sharing your parade with us. Our small hometown parade is very small in comparison but the respect is there just the same.
Caron, we have some small towns here, one parade was less than 6 minutes long! But just as much fun for everyone. Thanks !
Andrea - Wonderful post, great photos and fun comments, thanks for the read & view!
Vegas Bob
