Speechless Sunday - Almost time for the ice cream

Mulberry Fruit

We have a Mulberry Tree in the back yard, as a matter of fact the branches are hanging down over the table and chairs outside on the patio. Now how convenient is that? I will be taking my bowl of vanilla ice cream out there (if it ever stops raining) and pulling these lovely berries right off the tree and into the the ice cream.

Who is better than me????

I am watching the black berry bushes in my yard for just the same reason.  I made homemade blueberry ice cream on Thursday and it was devine.

HiAndrea~  How convenient that those berries hang right over where you sit on the patio!  We have had some blueberries, and are waiting for more.  I have made a few blueberry cobblers and it disappears very quickly, especially with the vanilla ice cream on top....

Posted by Vickie McCartney, Broker, Real Estate Agent Owensboro KY (Maverick Realty) over 9 years ago

Tammy, oh I admire you for making ice cream. Now one would think that is something I would have done given the easy access to raw milk... but noooo...

Vickie, it is great. You sit out there and just reach up, grab them and shove them in your mouth. Hardly any effort at all! You just need to fight the birds for them...

Looks like I could reach out and grab one of those berries.

Hello Andrea-Are we trying to rub it in by chance? Do you ship it UPS? <SMILE> If not I'll be right over. Ice cream is a weakness and I need something good after my week last week. I did a post about it last night, why I haven't been around. I missed you my friend. <SMILE> Have a super day.

Andrea, love the picture, and it reminds me that I have strawberries growing out on my deck.  I should take a picture of them.

Andrea, mulberries are great on ice cream, but they make such a mess in the yard!

Posted by Patricia Kennedy, Home in the Capital (RLAH Real Estate) over 9 years ago

Yum! I've never had a mulberry but it reminds me of blackberries. I'm into the idea of planting fruit-bearing plants and bushes in my yard.  I'm planning on high bush blueberries this year. And I was on a walk in the city by my office the other day and spotted a front yard patch filled with strawberries. Delish!

Andrea - I get dibs on that one single ripest berry.  It has my name on it:-)

Posted by Myrl Jeffcoat, Greater Sacramento Real Estate Agent (GreatWest Realty) over 9 years ago

I'm not sure I've ever seen a mulberry tree, but do wash them off right after pulling them off the tree and before dropping them into your ice cream.  Then feel free to send some out this way!

Posted by Jim Frimmer, Realtor & CDPE, Mission Valley specialist (HomeSmart Realty West) over 9 years ago

Judy, I share with the birds, LOL. I swear. I can't get to most of the berries, so the birdies take care of that for me. :D

Marti, you could always smoosh up some berries and include them in that meal replacement...

Hannah, I don't know about making jam, that is work, LOL. I would rather just pluck them off the tree and eat them, no fuss, no muss.

Liz, you are very welcome. And they are yummy, I admit it.

Donna, I am so sorry, LOL. NOT... Now I have to go have some sherbet....

Gary, they are, I am not  going to lie, LOL.

Cynthia, oh please, don't tell me that, LOL. It is hard enough, if I start making ice cream.. oh no..

George, I love strawberries, yummy!

Pat, that they do. They just get all smooshed into the grass and the patio. We need to eat them faster, LOL.

Liz, we had blueberries at our last house. The bushes are beautiful, and the berries, oh boy! Good idea. We have apple trees, a pear tree and the mulberry. I can hardly wait.

Myrl, I can try to mail it but... you might get mushberry instead of mulberry, LOL.

Jim, we try, but sometimes you just pop them in your mouth without thinking... but I will really try hard, I promise.
