Doctor Electric still makes house calls! Thank goodness for that, cuz I am a certified elecri-phobe! Really, it's true, Doctor Electric of New Milford, CT will make house calls for whatever ails the electrical systems in your home. Doctor Electric is a full service, fully licensed electrical contracting company serving most communities in Litchfield County and Northern Fairfield County in Connecticut . Doctor Electric is extremely reliable, has years of quality service backing their reputation. Doctor Electric is independently owned and operated by Michael Fairclough. I personally think Mike Fairclough IS Doctor Electric and he is committed to a highest level of customer service.
Electrical stuff makes me cringe, I am an electri-phobe. If you start telling me about problems with electrical systems I get all sick to my stomach, weak in my knees. I have an almost unnatural fear of electricity. A breaker box can send me into a total tizzy! A few years ago I needed my house rewired. I was thinking perhaps I should move instead, but Mike Fairclough from Doctor Electric took care of everything. Bing bang boom the house was rewired, I lived through the ordeal and was able to use my blow dryer and have the microwave on at the same time. It was a miracle!
The other day we had a monsoon here in CT, or close to it. The wind was whipping, the rain was coming down sideways. I called Doctor Electric to see if they could check out a listing I have. I found out the electrical box outside was loose and I was very worried rain would get in to the box and create a problem, or the wind would blow the cover off. Within an hour Mike Fairclough of Doctor Electric was there, standing in the pouring rain, checking out the entire house, inside and out. Me? I was wearing a rubberized suit, on the ready to run just in case. Electricity scares me to death. (And the good doctor didn't even make fun of me!)
After only a few hours I had a detailed estimate in my email inbox! The major part of the work has been finished, the meter box is new, the whole system is new actually. And it was done the right way, a permit was pulled at the town hall, and the building inspector will be coming to the house next week to sign off on the work. Mike Fairclough of Doctor Electric rocks, no doubt in my mind. My client is happy, I am happy, things are good! I can put away the rubberized suit for a bit.

Neat logo. Looks like a real estate broker on the run. Great promotion of a local business Andrea.
Wish we had a Doctor Electric!

We have doctors of everything now - why not a Doctor Electric? I love the logo on the door of the truck. The stethescope looks like some sort of a wire tester. Good marketing.
Andrea Doctor Electric sounds like a great company. They look like they know how to market themselves well.
Andy, I also love their logo, thank you!
Barbara, Doctor Electric is certainly an electrical contractor I can recommend without any hesitation!
Katie, LOL, aren't they clever with the name and logo? I love it!
Bill, they are, they really are. And you know as well as I do how hard it is to recommend a company sometimes. But I have no hesitation here! Great logo isn't it?
Andrea,
Competent, trustworthy contractors are worth their weight in gold! You're lucky to have found Doctor Electric.
Irene, you better believe it!
Sounds like you found a good resource for all your electrical needs.
I hope they discount your next call with all the business they're sure to get as a result of this blog!
It's hard to find honest competent contractors anywhere. Thanks for the plug on this company.
Andrea and if you mention that you read about him on your blog you get how much of a discount?????
Andrea, service like Doctor Electric provides is rare these days. He sounds like a throw back to the old days.
Hi Andrea ~ That's a super name for an electrician! I'm with you - I hate fooling around with electricity.
My lack of enthusiasm for electricity probably stems from a couple of incidents
- one when I was in France and thinking I had bought the right converter, plugged my contact lens doohickie into the wall. Eeek!! Bang, flash - not good.
- the other time was in my rented room during graduate school - I was attaching one of those brass swivel wall lights next to my bed and screwed right through the cord behind the wall plate. Unfortunately, I wasn't too savvy at that point I guess since I had plugged the stupid light in while installing it. Flames shot out of the wall and I had to have the fire department come.
Time to call the Dr.!
Liz
Andrea, this is called customer service, isn't it? It is hard to find reliable service nowadays, coming in a short notice is almost out of the question in general. Sounds like Dr. Electric knows what it takes to stay in business, that's for sure!
Very nice of you to take the time to praise someone who does a good job. While the doctor was operating were you cowering in your Jeep? LOL
Craig, LOL, I never thought of that, and probably won't even go there!
Robert, isn't that amazing? But yes, Doctor Electric is all that they promise to be!
Ed, I am not sure, LOL, why don't you call and see.... but seriously, they are awesome!
George, pretty much!
Liz, I have my own horror story that started my fears. I was young, and working at a restaurant. I opened a large sliding door cooler to get a drink out of it and got a shock that threw me back about 4 feet and slammed me into a wall. Might explain things though... lol.
Rita, that it is! Yes, so many don't have customer service, and that is what sets them apart, plus great work!
Jim, I was 5 driveways down, in my Jeep, cowering on the floor, LOL. You know me too well.
Dr. Sparky!! Good blog! Combing your experience WITH an excellent Localism spin!
