Andrea - This is a great post about Bridgewater CT, it sounds like a beautiful town.
Hi Andrea ~ This is the clincher - "Bridgewater is 17.3 square miles of eye candy" - love it! and your beautiful pictures prove it.
Liz
Very nice post, Andrea - I really like the blurred vignette around the town sign.
Debi
Well done Andrea. Great job showcasing Bridgewater and why folks should consider moving there.
Another great spot my friend. Love the buildings in the pictures and that lake is truly beautiful.
Andrea, Great post. you're an effective spokesperson for your town.
Michelle, thank you, it really is!
Liz, thank you so much! And I forgot to mention Bridgewater Chocolates which you can get at the Village Store. YUMMY!
Debi, I am so glad you noticed, thank you! I wanted to dress it up just a bit.
Craig, thank you. It is a great little find here.
JL, I appreciate your comment, thank you! The lake is beautiful, it is really the Housatonic River, but where it is wide, they call it Lake Lillinonah.
Linda, why thank you, I appreciate your comment. Always easier to write if you have people spurring you on. Although Bridgewater is pretty easy to write about.
Hi Andrea, A handsome local post and a great introduction to Bridgewater. I noticed the blur as well around the sign. I have a bunch of blurred photos,:- but I am didn't do that intentionally and there is no "in focus" value to be found. I think I mentioned that my 300 mm is defective so everything I used it for comes out that way. :-)
Andrea,
Another wonderful presentation. What a terrific line of photos. This is really a master class for the rest of us
Lovely local post. Lovely photos and narrative. Seems to me that if a person is considering buying a home in the area, this should get their attention.
I loved this post Andrea. Very well done. This post compels me to come up to Bridgewater for a visit.
Andrea, another well written local post that spurs the imagination and spins a tale of a wonderful New England town!
Andrea - Very nice job on this fabulous Localism post... Very nice slide show as well...
What a wonderful write up on Bridgewater. It really is a great town.
Beautiful pictures and a great community! pippa
Lovely photos, Andrea and a nice post about the community.
Andrea - what a great localism post and love your slideshow. It's enough to make me want to visit.
William, LOL, I did this one on purpose. Sorry to hear about your camera, that is terrible! Thank you.
Jon, thank you! I do have fun going out and taking the photos. I have another one lined up, waiting for the trees to leaf out a bit more. And of course I have a list of farms with cows to take a few photos of...
Lenn, thank you, I really appreciate this coming from you! It is a lovely town that certainly deserves attention.
Dan, well, come on up, over, down, sideways! Thanks!
Caren, oh, I appreciate it, thank you.
Robert, I just love Picasa slide shows. I am a photo hog as you can see. Why put only 1 or 2 when you can do a slide show? Thank you.
Hi there Kasey's! Thank you. Do you make it up for the Bridgewater Fair? If not, you should!
Pippa, thank you. There really is so much to photograph and talk about in these small towns. I so enjoy it.
Marlene, thank you, I appreciate your comment.
Leah, Anytime you feel the urge, come on by! I bet you would love it.
Hi Andrea -- Sounds like a charming place to live -- and expensive, given the average list price! I loved the slide show.
Connecticut is such a beautiful state! I really love your posts about the different areas you serve.
Can I ask what app or program you're using for your slide show? It's very nice.
Andrea your presentation of Bridgewater CT should get some attention. Connecticut is truly a lovely state. Did you know it is roughly the size of the island of Jamaica and they both have nutmeg?
Andrea- fabulous photographs with this post just tells a wonderful story. I wonder if it will always be dry? And I'm curious too as to what day it was you took the photos, as I noticed the flag at half staff?
Andrea great job on this blog, no wonder that it got featured. You just keep getting better and better at these Localism blogs.
Andrea, I live these communities that were built in the 1700 and 1800's. So much character and history there. Great information about Bridgewater.
Chris, it is a charming place. And yes, there are many estates here, but there are some more moderately priced homes too. Thank you!
Margaret, Picasa, from Google. Check it out! If you click on the slide show it will take you to my page there, and you can see for yourself! Thank you!
Jennifer, that is a very interesting fact, or 2 facts I should say. And thank you!
Tammy, thank you. I don't know, my guess is yes, it will always stay dry! You can drive to New Milford, Brookfield, any of the surrounding towns and get something to drink. Actually, come to think of it, I think Roxbury is dry too, one of the surrounding towns. I think my info is wrong.. uh oh.. LOL. And I wasn't drinking when I wrote it! You are very observant about the flag as half staff. Marine Lance Corporal Tyler Griffin of Voluntown, CT died in Afghanistan on April 1st. Gov. Rell ordered all US and State of CT flags here in CT to be flown at half staff until his funeral. He was only 19 years old.
George, why thank you! I bet you and Mrs. George have been through Bridgewater! And I didn't even realize it was featured, I was wondering why people were coming over here, LOL.
Kay, I love them too. Thank you so much! History is so important, I love the fact Bridgewater works to protect its past.
Mmm mmmm mmmm !!!!!
This is a FABULOUS local spotlight partner !!!!
Wonderful commentary and truly terrific pictures !
This will entice a lot of folks looking into Bridgewater, CT !!!
What goes around comes around.. now I'm the one shedding a tear. And now I'm off to see if I can find a way to say thank you to Tyler's family for his service. Being an "Army wife" I tend to always notice the flag.
Shel, thank you! I appreciate your comment as always. :D
Tammy, it caught your eye too I see. Yes, as I drove around CT yesterday I went past a car dealership who was flying a rather large flag, and not at half staff. I was very disappointed indeed. If I had not been pushing to get to an appointment I would have gone in and told them they need to lower the flag. Thank you for stopping by!
