I have a new passion! And it sure is a lot of fun.

I have a new passion! And it sure is a lot of fun.

Video CameraI have resisted YouTube for a long time now, for some reason I am scared to death of my video camera. One would think as much as I love to take pictures this would be the next logical step in a natural progression. But no, I seem to suffer from videophobia. But with the news that YouTube is the second most searched only behind Google (don't know where I read that) I knew I had to do something....

There is another way for people like me!

I use Picasa online for photo storage and slide shows, and downloaded the Picasa program for photo editing a long time ago. I switch between my main staple, ACDSee and Picasa all the time. Recently I discovered that Picasa will make movies! And put them on YouTube with the click of a button! Now how easy is that?

Then I discovered that Youtube gives you the option to use music they provide. Very very cool! I am really loving it. After comparing some of the other local real estate videos that I found on YouTube I am pretty proud of what I have done. Done professionally, they have a voice over talking about the homes, I inserted slides with descriptions written on them. I have a very critical eye when comparing my work against others, but I was pleased with my own results I have to say.

So, even if you suffer from videophobia as I do, you can still use YouTube and post videos. And how easy it is. Give it a try, I bet you will love it as much as I do.

Here is an interesting fact, nothing I used to produce and distribute my videos cost money. Picasa and YouTube are free! Wow, now just how cool is that? I told you I had a new passion.

I am off to do a few more videos in the next few days! And just maybe I will get over that phobia of mine and try the video camera!

Andrea - Great job! It certainly has great bones, and wow those rooms if refinished and restored will become a show piece. I have to get cracking on utilizing Picasa more. Thanks for the nudge. ;-)

I love the fact that the end of the video is a great plug for the town!

Hey Andrea!

One, thanks for the advice on the Picasa voice-over. I didn't know that we could do that. I'll have to give that a try on all of my videos.

Two, congratulations in joining me over the 300K mark! Isn't it fun?

Congratulations on the 300K milestone Andrea!

I just read that only 1% of Realtors are using video in their marketing. I'm glad to see that you (and I) are part of that 1%.

In a very short time, without video in your marketing, you'll be considered outdated...and eventually swallowed up by your competition.

Andrea, I can understand why you would be scared to death of doing a video, especially if your camera looks anything like the one in the picture.

And CONGRATULATIONS to you and William on reaching 300,000 points :) :) :)

Congratulations on both your achievements . . . getting over the 300K hump, and brining on the YouTube to your listing.  I wanted to share a comment, but don't want to seem negative.  If I can share with you, let me know.  I'll email.

Andrea, I never paid attention you did not put video on your blogs, you are always a professional photographer and high tech person to me.  Well, you did a great job of putting this together the 1st time.  I am sure I will see more from you.  Keep it up, girl!

Silvia, I am taking photos today, I hope, of a waterfront. Weather is perfect for it!

Pocono Mtn, the Picasa application is what I use to make the movie!

Judy, I think this is a great house, in a fantastic location. We got an offer yesterday, lets see if it will work!

Ed, thank you, all the way around. It rather snuck up on me.

Derenda, thank you! I hope to get a stock of photos for each town, and hoping more that I will actually pick up that video camera, LOL.

Richard, that won't work in the 2 programs I use to mark the photos, but thanks anyway! And I appreciate your comment. The town is a wonderful one which lends itself well to photos.

William, good luck with that, and thank you! Congratulations to you too!

Hi Bill, thanks. I thought that music was perfect, especially when you get to the basement, the change in the music matched, LOL.

Toni, great program and free, now that is a no brainer, isn't it! Thank you!

Pat, it was overwhelming at first, I don't know why. I was doing slide shows all along, but this is so much better!

Pat, I hope she gets that all important face lift, isn't the property wonderful? I can see what the house will look like after her surgery!

Glenn, try the video slide shows first, it is not as painful!

VB, I will take a look, thank you so much!

John, yes indeed, go take a look at YouTube. I have made my own channel, New Milford CT Real Estate. I wish I had known I would use it for real estate when I made my account, I would have a different user name. Ah well...

Craig, thank you! Really? Only 1%? Oh, that is a nice group to be in! And I am sure you are right about that.

George, thanks so much, I appreciate it. My camera doesn't look like that, but it scares me just as much!

Carla, LOL, I knew one person would see the typo. I need to be more careful, I am a terrible speller.

Adam, thank you on all three counts!

Rita, I was only putting slide shows up. This was the next logical step. And I will try to pick up the video camera. Thank you so much, you are too kind!

Michael, I have no idea, it is a stock photo. I didn't take a photo of my wonderful cameras we have. Both are easy to use and small, and I am petrified of them, LOL.

Videos are one thing that I have not done much of myself, but I need to get into the swing of things.

Making videos is a blast.  I don't say I'm an expert, but I enjoy making them.  I narrate most of my videos, so I don't use sound much.  I have used tunes that come with my flip video and they work out fine.  Congratulations on the 300K milestone and joining the ranks of the video nuts.
