Kent CT wins Yankee Magazine Best Place for Leaf Peeping! Kent beat out Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts for the best place for leaf peeping in New England. No surprise to me or to many who live in the area. Lower Litchfield County is full of eye candy, and the small town of Kent, CT is no exception!
According to Yankee Magazine, it is not just about the trees, it is an overall viewpoint. I already knew there was much to see and do in Kent, the center of Kent is full of wonderful little stores, antique shops, great restaurants. The Appalachian Trail runs through Kent, making it a great place to hike. The Housatonic River cuts through Kent, CT, perfect for fishing, kayaking, canoeing. Route 7 wanders through Kent, CT providing some of the best eye candy going.
If you are looking for a place to leaf peep this year, come to Kent, CT. Enjoy the view, hang out downtown and shop, catch a bite to eat. I know I will be there with my camera, how about you? After all, Yankee Magazine says
Kent, CT is the best place to leaf peep, and so do we!

Beautiful write up on leaf peeking! Just noticed this morning a few colorful leaves on the ground.
That is a great picture of the train addition to the house.
Love the change of seasons. Keep taking photos to share.
Margaret
Andrea, what a beautiful and vibrant color you captured! Fall is on the way, can't wait to see more of your masterpieces.
Those photographs of Kent, CT are just gorgeous. I can only imagine what it must be like in person during Fall.
Leaf Peeping - Now there is a label for a delightful activity, Andrea! The colors in certain areas on the east coast are so amazing in autumn. . .You can almost see the light as it jumps from leaf to leaf! Spectacular colors and pictures!
Andrea, I do love both of those photos! Amazing colors!
OK. You win the prize for not only the Best Leaf Peeping location, but also for being the first to officially end Summer with this Fall flavored blog!!!
Craig is right, your photos brought my summer to an end. Here's to some exciting leaf peeping this fall!
Margaret, thank you, I am glad you like them. I am armed and ready for the change of seasons, LOL.
Rita, Fall is on the way, you can see it in the trees, they are beginning to turn a bit less green, and in some spots they are actually fall colored. We have a ways to go yet though.
Myrl, we have called them "leaf peepers" for quite a while. You know who they are by their driving habits, I will say no more. Thank you!
Pat, thanks. I do love fall, it is my favorite time of year.
Craig, where is my prize? LOL, thank you!
Dan, leaf peeping is always exciting, thanks!
