The Great Housatonic Duck Race 2011, The TV is just within reach this year!

NEW MILFORD CT NEWS FLASH... The Great Housatonic Duck Race is ON this Monday, May 30th, 2011!

The Great Housatonic Duck RaceWe have not had a successful run over the past 2 years so I decided to hire a professional trainer to get my duck in shape to win! From all reports, he should do very well in the race this year. The first year my duck was just not strong enough to pull ahead of the pack. Last year he had no focus, he saw some chicky who bat her eyes at him, he allowed himself to be distracted, the race was lost. All our dreams floated down river...

This year will be different, very very different.

I am very grateful to Steven "King of the House" Smith for suggesting to me that Nutsy S. Wallenda was available to help. Nutsy has won many a swimming competition in his life. I understand if it weren't for his dedication to his chosen profession (home inspections) he would have gone on to join the Olympic Swim Team. I packed up my duckie and off to Bellingham Washington he went for a year of intense training with the best of the best. I can't thank Steven enough for allowing Nutsy the time off needed to train my duck, and of course I can't thank Nutsy enough... what a guy that Nutsy is.

Andrea, the nutty event sounds like so much fun. You'll have to take plenty of pictures to bring back and share with us in the rain.

Andrea,

If officials want to test your duck for performance enhancing drugs,  just relax and eat some cheese and quackers.  Don't duck the issue.

And paddle ducky paddle.  Good luck, sounds like fun.

Andrea,  I am thrilled that your duck has been trained and certified by Nutsy. I will be cheering for him. By the way, what is his name.

Hi Andrea,

Duck racing.... I hope no ducks were injured during trainng, otherwise we will be forced to get duck police out.

You might want to use the famous duck chant

"I want my rubber ducky back", "I want my rubber ducky back",   "I want my rubber ducky back"   ;0)

You're worried about your duck being distracted, Ha! Nutsy is the king of distractions. I hope he didn't teach your duckie any bad habits.

Dear Ms Andrea,

It was my privlige to help. As to Mr James, I hear that you live near him. Please give him a swift kick in the rear for me and, while at it, kick him a couple three times for dissing your judgement as wells.

Joan, he has been in training for a long time... a year to be exact. Let's hope so.

Vickie, it is most unfortunate, I cannot attend the event. Nutsy will be there however, I am counting on him to take the pictures for me.

Lloyd, we are prepared for that, trust me...

Gary, isn't that just amazing? And my duckies name is Veyron... Bug Atti Veyron, I am sure he will do his name credit.

Peter & Linda, no ducks were injured, Nutsy would never.... :D

Joshua, I have always had a great time at the duck races!

Mr. James... Nusty is right, I know where to find you...

Nutsy, I do know how to find him, and he is in for it the next time I see him! I can't thank you enough for training Veyron, he should be a shoe in, barring any unforeseen events.... just make sure, in my absence, that if you see Mr. James skulking around the river you keep your eyes on him.

Barbara, your godson Nutsy is quite the amazing guy!

Ms Andrea,

Training a rubber duck is not so complicated, and the duck was quite cooperative, based on my experiences in training the Navy Commandos.

My dearest Godson, I am ever so appreciate of your time you put in with my duck, no matter what the outcome I know you did the very best anyone ever could!

Croakster.... Inquiring minds want to know how Mr. Markanich's black eye really came to be.... I read a story about a fireplace mantle... hmmm.... And just a note here, you look a bit like you are full of hot air, just sayin... be careful that you don't blow all around the room or something! That makes me a bit nervous!

Posted by Andrea Swiedler, Realtor, Southern Litchfield County CT (Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties) over 7 years ago

I have to admit that with age I have become fuller of hot air.

Is that too much information?

But, Croakster still ain't buyin'it!

Oh, and a Scout is trustworthy, so you can count on anything I say!

Ms Andrea,

I have now changed into my rooser attire which I hope you will find colorful. Mr Jay, as I learned in January, is full of hot air. When I was short of cash in Mexico, he said he was sending money and he never did. Total windbag I thinks.
