Found fox hound (?) and spaniel in New Milford CT. Did you lose your dogs?

GOOD NEWS, OWNER CAME AND CLAIMED THE HOULIGANS! THEY ARE HOME SAFE AND SOUND!

Did you lose your dogs in New Milford CT? We found two female dogs in our yard this evening. A fox hound (?) and a spaniel of some type with short hair. Both dogs have 2010 New Milford CT dogs tags on them and were found on Ridge Rd. One has what looks to be an invisible fence type of devise on it.

I have had to call Animal Control, which I did not want to do. But these dogs and my old pooch won't mix in the house, add my cats to the recipe, and it would have been a disaster for sure. And leaving them to run amok up here on the ridge in New Milford is not a good idea with the traffic on the roads.

If you lost your hound and spaniel in New Milford, CT, please call the Animal Control Officer at 860-354-2138. I am sure they will be MOST happy to be sprung from the hoosegow...

Here is a photo of the escapees...no, they aren't in jail in the photo, I have them penned up in the calving barn!

Lost Dogs in New Milford CT

FOUND TWO DOGS IN NEW MILFORD CT, RIDGE RD AREA, JUNE 12, 2011. FEMALE SPANIEL AND FEMALE FOX HOUND, (BEAGLE, HOUND OF SOME TYPE). IF YOU LOST THESE DOGS PLEASE CALL THE NEW MILFORD ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER AT 860.354-2138!

For anyone who wants to know, if these dogs are unclaimed they will be turned over to Animal Welfare, the dog warden assured me they would not be euthanized if they are unable to find the owner. They are happy, well cared for and beautiful dogs! Made me feel better.

You rock Andrea.  I know those pups are happy.  I hope their family is looking for them or they find a new home soon, but for taking them in you just rock.

Tammy, they are on their way to the Animal Shelter. The dog warden assured me they will do everything they can to find the owners and told me to call in the morning for an update. If no one claims them or they can't find the owner, the dogs will go to the vet, then to our Animal Welfare here in town, which is a no kill shelter. I was relieved and hope they do get to go home tonight. I am thinking someone is missing these two hooligans!

Glad the owners came to reclaim them. I had to take a dog to the pound once... it almost killed me to do it. I called the next day and was relieved to hear that the owner had retrieved them!
