Salsa Restaurant, a Great Tradition of Southwestern Dining in New Milford, CT

Salsa Restaurant New Milford CTI have been going to Salsa Restaurant in New Milford, CT for years. What a treat, they have the best Southwestern dining in the area! We went the other day for lunch, and I have to admit, I hadn't been to their new location at 31 Bank Street yet. It was, as expected, a culinary delight. Salsa Restaurant has been a destination for great food since they first opened in 1992, they are a great tradition of Southwestern dining in New Milford, CT.

The new space is certainly more spacious, and lends itself well to an afternoon or evening of dining pleasure. The old building is full of ambiance, the brick walls, the high ceilings, the beautiful old wooden bar is warm and inviting. Your choice to sit at a table and enjoy the view of Bank Street, or sit at the bar.

The food is, in a word, spectacular. Actually, you need more than one word to describe the fare. How about mouth watering? Or perhaps delectable and certainly delicious! They have a unique twist to every dish they send out to the tables.

Rich, Liddy and I decided an afternoon lunch downtown was the perfect holiday treat. The streets of New Milford are decorated, the store fronts beckoned us in, but they would have to wait until after our superb lunch!

Rich had the enchiladas, and of course he started with home made sweet potato and mushroom soup. (And boy am I glad we are like family, because we all dug into his soup, and it was quite good!) Liddy ordered a wonderful avocado and chicken salad with a dill dressing to die for, and I ordered the chicken taco salad. The table was silent as the forks flew, always a good sign. We actually had no room for desert, which is a first for Rich and I! Liddy has a bit more self control in that department.

Tell me your're not hungry now!

I can highly recommend Salsa Restaurant in New Milford for a great dining experience. Check out their menu here. They are open Tuesday through Sunday, and even have a Sunday brunch menu. For those of you that aren't aware, in 2005 the building Salsa Restaurant is in was featured in the Adam Sandler movie "Mr. Deed's". Bank Street was magically transported to a simpler time, it was such fun.

Okay, those pictures really made me hungry and it's 1:52am here. Not sure it's a good idea to get up to eat now. Calories and all. I wonder....will I gain weight if I'm just think about it.
